Here we will highlight some of the most commonly asked questions on the subject, namely, a partial <\/span><b>list of activities Ofsted will not perform. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will also cover <\/span><b>elements they will not require from schools <\/b><b>during an inspection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as these are the topics that can create the most confusion for educators.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ofsted will not:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grade individual lessons<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create unnecessary workload for teachers through its recommendations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Routinely check personnel files, although it may look at a small sample<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advocate a particular method of planning (including lesson planning), teaching or assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ofsted does not require schools to provide:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Photographic evidence of pupils\u2019 work (although inspectors may request to take photographs themselves of pupils\u2019 work, which will be anonymised)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any written record of teachers\u2019 oral feedback to pupils<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Individual or previous lesson plans<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Predictions of attainment and progress scores<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assessment or self-evaluation, other than that which is already part of the school\u2019s business processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performance and pupil-tracking information<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitoring of teaching and learning and its link to teachers\u2019 professional development and the <\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/teachers-standards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">teachers\u2019 standards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, other than that which is already part of the school\u2019s normal activity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specific details of the pay grade of individual teachers who are observed during inspection<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anonymised lists of teachers meeting or not meeting performance thresholds for pay progression<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recordings of live lessons, unless they are normally stored for the staff or pupils\u2019 future use<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ofsted does not require schools to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carry out a specified amount of lesson observation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use the Ofsted evaluation schedule to grade teaching or individual lessons<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure a particular frequency or quantity of work in pupils\u2019 books or folders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Include targets relating to the proportion of good or better teaching in headteacher objectives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take any specific steps with regard to site security;
