Osceola County School District Selects Xello for K-12 College and Career Readiness

Future readiness solution guides students through self-reflection, skill-building and goal-setting

ONTARIO, Canada (October 1, 2020) – To support its mission of inspiring all learners to reach their highest potential as responsible, productive citizens, for the 2020-21 school year Osceola County School District has chosen Xello, a modern K-12 college, career, and future readiness program. The district will be implementing Xello with its 9th – 12th grade students, in a year where student engagement plays a pivotal role in district success

“Xello stood out because the platform is student-driven and goes beyond ‘checking off boxes’ – it helps students explore their interests, build real-world skills and create a unique plan for college and/or career,” said Anthony Cook, Coordinator of College and Career Counseling at Osceola County School District. “Our educators and counselors are eager to use Xello’s lesson plans and data tracking capabilities, which complement our focus on transitioning students from high school to college, the workforce or military service.”

Designed to put the student at the center of their experience, Xello helps learners better understand who they are and the future academic and career options best aligned to their unique skills and interests. Student progress is tracked within the platform to seamlessly transition from grade to grade.

As students advance through pathway courses, complete skills development activities, and create a unique plan for college and/or career, all of their documents, progress and goals are saved along the way.

“We’re a data-driven district, and ease of access on the administrative side is a big deal – Xello will allow us to easily track how many students are logging in and using the solution, which is especially important given the remote environment we’re currently in,” Cook said. “Xello’s data tracking and reporting capabilities are much more robust than previous solutions we’ve used.”

Students can access interactive career, personality and learning style assessments, create personalized online portfolios, explore postsecondary education and career options and complete college applications through Xello’s integration with Common App.

“Now more than ever student engagement is critical to student success. We’ve long believe that, to really engage students, programs need to personalizing their learning experience. When it comes to college and career readiness, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach – every student is unique, and our team is eager to partner with Osceola County School District to help more learners discover their passions and how those interests connect to their academic and long-term future success,” said Jeff Harris, President and Co-Founder of Xello.
